I made this cake for a 12 year old girl who loves Art and Sock Monkeys and it turned out so cute! I couldn’t quite get the picture in my head of how to do it when I first heard the words “sock monkey” and “art” together on a cake, but it all started coming together after I started putting everything on. The Sock Monkey made a mess with all his painting supplies! Definitely a very unique cake!

Tinkerbell & Friends Fairy Cake
We took a little drive to Hollywood this afternoon to deliver this Tinkerbell & Friends cake! This little girl has some amazing parents because they set up the most awesome party for a 4 year old I have ever seen! The customer had this tree cake holder already and I just brought the cakes and put them on when we got there. The cake holder was a little wobbly once we put the cakes on since the weight wasn’t evenly distributed, but the family found a weight to put on the side of it which balance it out and helped everything stay upright and sturdy! There was also a bouncy castle, amazing decorations and ponies at the party! Now that’s a party! ![]()

SUPERMAN!!!!
This was a cool cake for a little boy’s 3rd Birthday Party! Loved it! I of course had to buy the Superman action figure for the cake topper because I didn’t want to attempt to make one myself out of fondant and have it look nothing like the real thing. Plus this was a great way to give a little birthday present to the birthday boy myself! The best part for me is dropping off the cake and seeing the reaction of the people I made it for and this little boy was smiling when he saw it and got up on a chair to look at it when I put it on the table for display. I think he liked it!
I tried out modeling chocolate for some of the details and I think I really like modeling with this better than fondant and who doesn’t like the taste of chocolate! The Superman “S” logo, the airplane and sign are all made from the modeling chocolate. And it’s only two simple ingredients…chocolate and corn syrup. ![]()

Movado Watch
This cake was really fun to put all the details on and see it come to life as everything got put together. This cake is a surprise for the husband of the lady that ordered the cake. He has a watch for every occasion, so what a perfect cake theme for him! Thanks for looking!

Party like a Rock Star!!
Another super fun cake this weekend! Guitar, Drums, Speaker and Microphone band cake. The Guitar and four drums were made out of cake and the microphone and speaker were made out of styrofoam since they didn’t need that much cake but still wanted the wow effect of the band props. The decorations at the party were awesome and the cake fit right in! ![]()

Quincinera Celebration
![]()
Well, I got another great opportunity this weekend to do a cake that I’ve never done before….a Quincinera Cake! A lot of firsts on this one, my first black and white cake and my first 4 tiered stacked cake and I think it all came together very nicely! This cake served 200 people! Quite a large cake, also the
biggest cake I’ve done so far. The bottom tier was 14”, then 12”, 10” and 8” and then there were four 6” cakes around it. Strawberry,
Chocolate and Vanilla cakes with buttercream…yum! I’ve never been to a Quincinera party before, but it looked like they went all out on this one! The birthday girl’s dress was so beautiful and it looked like it was going to be one amazing party!

Coach Purse
I got an awesome cake order this weekend for a blue and white coach purse! This is by far my most favorite cake I have
done so far! I love it
when the cakes I’m most nervous for actually turn out exactly how I want them to! The birthday girl was Natasha, hence the “Natasha” name tag on the side of the bag…one of my favorite accessories. A big thanks goes out to my husband who helped me out with the “c”s and other details….he was a HUGE help! This one was so fun to see come to life. I’m loving the opportunities I’ve been getting to make such fun cakes!

Bridal Cookies!
Okay, so I know this isn’t cake, but I wanted to post pictures of my latest project…bridal cookies! Look how cute they turned out! They were so fun to do…I wouldn’t mind doing them again. They are sugar cookies with rolled buttercream and royal icing decorations. These would be so cute for baby showers (obviously in baby shapes), weddings, bridal showers….you name it! ![]()

Animal Baby Shower
This cake turned out so cute and I was especially excited about the bows and the animals! I have been looking for an excuse to try out bows on a cake and finally I got the chance. The theme for the baby shower was animals from the Cricut Critter collection so I tried to make the animals to look the same as the Cricut ones…I think I did a pretty good job!

Elvis is alive!
I got a request this past week for an Elvis themed cake. At first I was a little hesitant because I wasn’t sure how to pull that off, but I’m actually quite happy with how this cake turned out. This cake was definitely another great learning experience! The Elvis figurine took quite a long time, with trying to make the different limbs and attach them to the body and let everything dry and hope that it all stayed together. He actually stayed together quite well, although he didn’t really stay on top of the cake very well….. something I learned for next time is to always, always, always attach people figurines into the cake with a toothpick or wooden dowel or something like that. Anyways, this cake was fun to see come to life! ![]()

LEGOLAND!!!
I found another excuse to make
another cake this weekend! My brother and sister-in-law and their family came in to town to visit us and to take their kids to Legoland! So I decided to make them a Legoland cake to add to their excitement. I tried out a new strawberry cake recipe for this cake and everyone said it tasted good, so I think I might keep this recipe in my collection. The little lego man was my favorite part. My nephew was so excited to eat his head though!…He was laughing while putting it in his mouth slowly and chomping away. ![]()

Happy 1st Birthday Luke!
I was so excited to get my first cake order here in California this weekend!! Thank you so much Kristie for the opportunity to make
your little boy’s first birthday cake! This cake was so fun to make and I was very happy with how it turned out. The bottom cake is a 10” vanilla with strawberry frosting and the top tier is an 8” lemon with buttercream. The “smash” cake for the birthday boy to play with is a 4” banana cake with
strawberry frosting. The only problem I had with this cake was the buttercream frosting was a little thin once I colored it blue so it had to be refrigerated until it was ready to be delivered. But all in all it turned out great! I was so anxious on the entire drive over to the birthday house trying to make sure the cake didn’t fall over while my husband drove, but everything worked out just great! I can’t wait to see what my next cake request will be…![]()
